Do You Need a Plumber or an Electrician?
Carefully decide before you call a plumber or an electrician - calling out the wrong trades person would be costly.
Plumbing issues are a little easier to indicate than electrical issues relating to your water function. Water leaks or no water coming out of the tap are usually signs that you need to call a plumber.
AAE Industries have a few indicators for you before deciding to call a plumber or an electrician:
- Has the hot water gone cold?
- Have you check the pressure of the valve release?
- Are there signs of a leak?
- Is the water coming out of the tap at all?
- Is the fuse blown?
- Is the gas cylinder empty?
Electrical Issues
However, in some instances, it could all have started from an electrical issue. If you have a broken or faulty thermostat that is stuck at a high temperature, it will keep the water almost boiling - which will cause a buildup of pressure inside the cylinder. The pressure valve then kicks in and releases some water which may lead you to think you have a water leak.
Have another check should the issues persist:
- Is there leaking water or no water?
- Is there an electrical component controlling this system?
- If there is not - call a plumber
- if there is - call an electrician
Gas Cylinder Replacement
If your home’s hot water system runs on gas, running out of hot water could be down to no gas left in the cylinders. In this case, you can call your gas provider to exchange the gas cylinders.
Otherwise, it is highly likely to be an electrical issue, for example, you may have blown a fuse. AAE Industries would be happy to assist you with any electrical problem you might have.
